Pelletier Family In Home Newborn Session | Beavercreek, Ohio Family Photographer
When Megan initially contacted me, she and her husband Matt were expecting their first baby…. a moment they had waited and hoped for through a long, difficult road. We planned a maternity session.
As the date of their session was approaching, while we were finalizing the details, Megan texted me with a surprise for all of us: her little guy had already arrived.
His first days were spent in the NICU, and those early weeks asked so much of this family. And then, he finally came home.
I got to photograph them there, in the space they’d long dreamed of filling. In the evening light, with sweet snuggles and so much joy, we all relished in the kind of quiet that only comes after a long-held breath. Megan and Matt held their boy like the answer to everything they’d been waiting for, because he was.
Near the end of our time together, Megan sat down and read Baby C a book : When I Pray for You. And it undid me a little. Because that’s exactly what this whole story has been… prayer after prayer, from the days when he was just a hope, through the waiting, through the NICU, all the way to this: reading those words over him with him finally in her arms.
So many prayers answered, wrapped up in one small boy.
Some sessions stay with you. This was one of them. Congratulations, Pelletier family. He’s here, he’s home, and he is so deeply loved.
There’s a reason I love in-home newborn sessions. We let the evening move at its own pace in the Pelletiers’ own nursery. We were graced with the soft evening light coming through the window, surrounded with the comfort that being at home brings. For a family who’d spent those first days in the NICU, being together in their own space meant everything.
These sessions are gentle and unhurried. We take our time. Babies eat when they’re hungry, we pause for snuggles, and I follow the little moments as they happen ….a yawn, a curled hand, the way a new mom looks down at her son. Nothing is forced. For newborns, that slower, at-home rhythm is often exactly what everyone needs.
If you’re expecting a baby in the Beavercreek or Dayton, Ohio area - or your little one has just arrived - I would love to tell your family’s story too.
Your session is just that, yours. So whatever you would like to include that feels like you we can do. We can capture baby’s bath time, or a quiet feed in the nursery. I want you to remember and cherish these days forever!
It’s never too early to reach out, whether your baby is still on the way or already home in your arms.
You can get in touch through my contact page, and we’ll plan a session that feels like you.
